Flower Pieces

I applied some distress inks on a panel and was rather disappointed with my result. I felt the colors and the panel in general were too dark for any stamping. So, I left it alone for a few weeks. I can never seem to just throw anything away. Anyway, it did not lighten up over time. So, I stamped a few images. This is the result. Thoughts?

Stamps:
   Touches of Texture
   Wetlands

Paper:
   Cucumber Crush A-2
   Basic Black 5-1/4 x 4
   Basic White 5 x 3-3/4, 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside)

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black
   Cucumber Crush
   Distress Inks

Technique:
   Sponging

Accessories:
   Layering Circles Framelits Dies
   Dimensionals
   Sponge
   Adhesive

First, I applied distress inks on my craft sheet. Added water, and lifted the color with my Basic White panel. I set it aside and let it dry.

Weeks later, I stamped on the panel, using images from the Touches of Texture stamp set.

I still felt the panel was too dark and the images were not showing up well at all.

So, I decided to cut the panel diagonally, and then into strips.

Next, I placed and adhered the strips onto a Basic Black panel. Somehow, I think this allowed my images to stand out a bit more.

I then adhered the Basic Black panel onto a Cucumber Crush card front.

Next, I stamped, die cut, and sponged the sentiment, using the Layering Circles Framelits and the Wetlands stamp set.

I attached the sentiment with a few dimensionals.

Lastly, I adhered a Basic White panel to the inside of the card.
