Anytime I see a parent holding his child in his arms, I sigh and smile, knowing that they are making memories that will last a lifetime. Can you recall such a memory? Thoughts?

I began with the Oceanfront stamp set:
I stamped the top stamp using Balmy Blue.
I then used Tahitian Tide for the water.
Next, I stamped the sand with Crumb Cake.
I added the sand pebbles using Soft Suede.
I stamped the grass with Mossy Meadow.
I then used A Good Man stamp set:
I stamped the image using Tuxedo Black Memento. The lines of the water and sand are visible, but will be covered up with markers.
Next, I colored the images using markers:
Basic Black - His Hair
Petal Pink - Skin Tone
Mossy Meadow - His Shirt
Calypso Coral - Her T-Shirt
Daffodil Delight - Her Hair
Pacific Point - His Jeans
Mango Melody - Her Pants (Ocean lines seeped through and gave it a tie-dyed look.) *If you want to avoid the lines, then stamp the image first and mask it. Then add the Oceanfront images.
I then took the sentiment from the Best Year stamp set and added it to the bottom of the card using Tuxedo Black Memento.
The Basic White panel was adhered to the Basic Black panel and then onto the card front.
Lastly, I added a couple of pebble enamel shapes and adhered the other Basic White panel to the inside of the card.

HAPPY STAMPING!
Nice card! It reminds me of when my daughter was young enough to be held like that. Now, I just found out that my granddaughter is pregnant, which will make me a great grandma for the third time!
ReplyDeleteWow! Congratulations! What a blessing! My oldest grandchild is 16, so I should still have a ways to go... Thank you so much, Fonda for commenting. I look forward to seeing your thoughts. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
DeleteWhat a GREAT card! Love how you done your scene. Great coloring on your father and child! (Nice to know you didn't have to mask to get this great image!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Carlene. Using markers hid the lines and colors underneath. Obviously, the lighter color on her pants was not hidden. It just looks like they are tie-dyed. Thank you for stopping by and commenting. Much appreciated.
DeleteLovely card! Your scene is so pretty and serene, and what lovely coloring for your standout image! (Nice to know you accomplished this look without having to mask!
ReplyDeleteThank you again, Carlene. I appreciate you stopping by and taking a second look. I may just create a mask for this father and daughter. I imagine using them on other cards. They are so beautifully drawn. Thanks again!
