Peaceful Deer

Do you like this quiet, peaceful scene? I think sometimes we create by accident. I was challenged to use a reflection technique, and when I was done, I was amazed. I am my own worst critic, but I liked this card. More than likely, I will never be able to recreate it again. Thoughts?

Stamps:
   Nature Sings

Paper:
   Bashful Blue A-2
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (2)

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black
   Daffodil Delight
   Bashful Blue

Markers:
   Personal Choice

Watercolor Pencils:
   Personal Choice

Technique:
   Reflection
   Sponging
   Watercolor

Accessories:
   Acetate Panel
   Blender Pen
   Sponge
   Adhesive

First, I sponged the top half of the Whisper White panel with Daffodil Delight.

I then stamped the trees and the deer.

I watercolored the lake using Bashful Blue.

Next, I used the acetate panel to add the reflection on the water. I lined up the front legs of the stag, and the rest fell into place.

I then used watercolor pencils to color in the trees and the deer. I used two greens on the trees and two browns on the deer. I used the blender pen to pull down color onto the base of the trees and to add a bit of movement to the water where the deer stood. I used the markers for defining lines on the deer.

Lastly, I stamped the sentiment and adhered the other Whisper White panel to the inside of the card.

    1. Thank you so very much, Fonda. Like I said, I think it was accidental. I've done this technique before with not so great results. I think the difference might have been the marker accents added to the reflection. Thanks for stopping by and sharing, Fonda. Much appreciated.
