In the Spotlight

I like to dig through some of my older wooden stamps that have not seen any ink in a while and show them some love. After all, I bought them because I liked them. These scallop circles are so cute. I like to sponge the edges to accent them. I think the trend of scallops has passed, but I still think they are beautiful. What do you think?

Stamps:
   In the Spotlight

Paper:
   Mango Melody A-2
   Magnolia Lane DSP 5-1/2 x 2-1/2
   Whisper White Scraps

Ink:
   Mango Melody
   Terracotta Tile
   Pumpkin Pie
   Mossy Meadow

Technique:
   Sponging

Accessories:
   1-3/4" Scallop Punch
   Gold Faceted Gems
   In Good Taste Elements
   Sponge
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive
   Glue Dots

First, I stamped my scalloped circles on scraps of Whisper White and punched them out using the 1-3/4" Scallop Punch. I sponged each one with the same ink I used to stamp.

I then adhered the designer series paper strip to the top of the Mango Melody card base.

I added the scallops with dimensionals.

Then I stamped the sentiment in the bottom center of the card. I added the wooden leaves using glue dots.

Lastly, I added a bit of glimmer to the center of each of the scallops.

  2. I agree I think the trend of scalloped circles and edges has passed but it will be back. I think these look great on your card and I love that you like to dig out older stamps to show them love. I need to do that more too but I am going to use my resolution for next year to use up images that have been stamped and sitting on my table for years so I can clear them out. Maybe in 2022 I will start the trend of using older stamps to give them some love. :)
