Time

In our fast-paced, need to have it now culture we should read this timeless quote daily (no pun intended). This is easily followed by, "Just Breathe," "Stop and smell the roses," or "Be still." You can easily remind someone of this on a special occasion, celebration, or just because it is Tuesday, whatever. Even though we cannot avoid the stress in our lives, it is nice to know there are those around us who recognize, understand, and are there for us. What are your thoughts?

Stamps:
   Sense of Time

Paper:
   Bordering Blue A-2
   Whisper White 3-1/4 x 4

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black
   Bordering Blue

Technique:
   Sponging

Accessories:
   Earth Elements Buttons
   Sponge
   Glue Dot
   Adhesive

I began by stamping the clock on a Whisper White panel.

Next, I chose the Bordering Blue cardstock and stamped clocks all over the card front, using Bordering Blue ink.

I then adhered the Whisper White panel to the top of the card and stamped the sentiment on the lower part, using Archival Basic Black ink.

Lastly, I attached a button with a glue dot.

Out on a Limb

I made this background by combining distress inks and water. I applied the ink on my mat, spritzed with water and then pulled it up with my paper. I dabbed it with a paper towel where needed. I then set it aside to dry. As with any watercolor background, each will be unique.

Paper:
   Whisper White A-2, 5 x 3-3/4
   Basic Black 5-1/4 x 4

Ink:

It's a Boy

Each generation has its own culture. The present generation refers to their culture as "Pop" culture. Let's focus on baby celebrations. In my Mother's generation there was a party where a string was attached to the mother's wedding band. It was then held to hover over the Mother's tummy. Depending on the movement of the ring, the baby was predicted to be a boy or a girl. My generation began to see the use of a sonogram, and of course, today there are reveal parties. The one constant throughout is a celebration for a new life.

Stamps:
   Big News
   A Little Wild

Paper:
   Pool Party A-2
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4

Ink:
   Mint Macaron
   Smoky Slate

Technique:
   CAS

Accessories:
   Adhesive

I stamped the sentiment and then the image.

I chose to not color either one, but the option of adding more color is evident.

Pink Anniversary

Get inspired and use the supplies you have on hand. The watercolor wash in the background is actually a retired background stamp, but all you need is a brush, ink and paper to make your own.

Stamps:
   Butterfly Basics
   Number of Years
   Watercolor Wash

Paper:
   Old Olive A-2
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (2)

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black
   Pink Pirouette

Markers:
   Melon Mambo
   Wild Washabi
   Daffodil Delight

Technique:
   Watercolor

Accessories:
   Aqua Painters
   Adhesive

The water color wash can be left off completely. I like the soft pink in the background, but the card would look lovely without it as well.

I chose a few of my favorite colors to use on the flower. Choose your favorites and make it your own.

Garden Cross

I like the look of these two colors together. The green on the vine brings forth life, while the blue on the cross is quite celestial. I also think it works well for a sympathy card: leaving an earthly existence for a spiritual one. Any thoughts?

Stamps:
   Elements of Style
   Thoughts & Prayers

Paper:
   Whisper White A-2, 2-3/4 4, 3 x 2-1/4
   Garden Green 3 x 4-1/4
   Night of Navy 3-1/4 x 2-1/4

Ink:
   Night of Navy
   Garden Green

Technique:
   Die Cutting
   Dry Embossing

Accessories:
   Cross of Hope Framelits Dies
   Framed Tulips Embossing Folder
   Regals Candy Dots
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

First, I dry embossed the Whisper White card base using the Framed Tulips Embossing Folder and set it aside.

Then I stamped the sentiment using Night of Navy ink and the flourish using Garden Green on the small Whisper White panel.

I then die cut the cross in Night of Navy and Whisper White. I adhered the pieces together. I attached the cross using dimensionals.

Lastly, I layered my card and added three candy dots.

Beautiful Day

Are you one of the few that strikes a pose in the morning? Think about it. You wake up and stretch. Your arms go up in the air, and you stretch way up as high as you can. Yes, this is the winner's pose. Are you a winner?

Stamps:
   Enjoy Life

Paper:
   Cajun Craze A-2
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (2)

Ink:
   Cajun Craze
   Garden Green
   Gorgeous Grape

Technique:
   Sponging

Accessories:
   Basic Pearl Jewels
   Sponge
   Adhesive

First, I sponged my background using Cajun Craze on top and Garden Green on the bottom.

Next, I stamped the sentiment, bush, and girl using Gorgeous Grape.

I then stamped the blades of grass with Garden Green.

Lastly, I adhered the Whisper White panel to the Cajun Craze card base. I also added the other Whisper White panel to the inside of the card.

You're Unfrogettable

It seems the older we get, the more we forget. I'm always having to make lists in order to remember and keep my head on straight. Yet, when it comes to people, I rarely forget a face. A name is a completely different category. But a face, I must say, "YOU'RE UNFROGETTABLE!"

Stamps:

   Unfrogettable
   Sprinkles of Life
   Lily Pad Wheel

Paper:
   Soft Sky A-2
   Basic Black 5-3/8 x 4-1/8
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4

Ink:
   Basic Black

Markers:
   Melon Mambo
   Soft Sky
   Wild Wasabi
   Pear Pizzazz
   Real Red
   Rose Red
   Mossy Meadow
   Pacific Point

Technique:

   Wheel Stamping

Accessories:
   Lily Pad Wheel
   Stamp-a-ma-jig, Stamparatus, or MISTI

   Wheel Guide

First, I used my wheel guide to keep the wheel straight across the paper. So, the lily pads were stamped first.

I then used my stamp-a-ma-jig to align the frog directly on the lily pad.

Next, I stamped the clouds and the sentiment.

I then pulled my markers and colored in the lily pads, frogs and water. I also drew in a few waves in the water.

Here is another look at this cute card:

Joyful Snowy Scene

Although the scene looks difficult to build, it is not. The background scene is one complete stamp. I added two robins, one snowman, and a deer. The snowman and the deer are stamped and fussy cut. They are attached with dimensionals. That means you don't have to worry about messing up the card. The sentiment can be changed or left off completely.

Stamps:
   White Christmas
   Merry Minis

Paper:
   Crumb Cake A-2, 4-1/2 x 3-1/4
   Cherry Cobbler 4-3/4 x 3-1/2
Whisper White 1-3/4" Sq., 1-1/4" Sq.

Ink:
   Early Espresso
   Whisper White Craft

Markers:
   Cherry Cobbler
   Crumb Cake
   Garden Green
   Tangelo Twist
   Early Espresso
   Basic Black
   Chalk White

Technique:
   Fussy Cutting
   Sponging

Accessories:
   Sponge Dauber
   Dimensionals
   Stamp-a-ma-jig, Stamparatus, MISTI

First, I stamped the background trees and slope.

Next, I stamped, colored, and fussy cut the snowman and the deer.

I sponged the snow on the ground, and stamped the falling snow. I added the snow on the tree branches with the chalk marker. You can also use a white gel pen if you have one.

I stamped and colored the robins on the tree branches. These are optional. I stamped them facing each other.

I stamped and colored my sentiment. This too can be changed or left off completely.

I then adhered all of my layers together. Lastly, I attached the snowman and the deer using dimensionals.

Thank You Fossils

There are techniques that will yield a unique background each and every time. This fossil stone background technique is a prime example. Take a look.

Stamps:
   None

Paper:
   Whisper White A-2
   Glossy White 5-1/4 x 4

Ink:
   Orchid Opulence
   Wisteria Wonder

Technique:
   Fossil Stone Background
   Die Cutting

Accessories:
   Well Written Framelits Dies
   Transparency Sheets or Acetate (2)
   Rubber Brayer
   Adhesive

Begin by choosing two coordinating inks. Apply each ink on one transparency sheet or acetate. Apply enough ink in an area to cover your card.

Next, smoosh the sheets together and gently rub your hands over the sheets. There will be air bubbles...which is part of the technique. The idea is to let the colors blend together.

Pull the sheets apart and insert two glossy panels. The glossy side should face the ink.

Close the sheets over the cards and brayer them using a rubber brayer.

Take them out and let them dry. You will then have two beautiful backgrounds.

I chose to add some black die cuts onto my background.

Burst of In-Colors

Colors bring happy to the world. Every year Stampin' Up! introduces 5 new colors that will stick around for 2 years. I decided to document the colors for the year 2016 by stamping with each color and including a piece of cardstock. I do like this design and idea. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Sunburst Sayings
   Gorgeous Grunge

Paper:
   Basic Black A-2
   Whisper White 5 x 6-1/2, 5-1/4 x 4
   Gold Glimmer 5 x 6-1/2
   Peekaboo Peach 1-1/4" Circle
   Flirty Flamingo 1-3/8" Circle
   Sweet Sugarplum 1-1/2" Circle
   Emerald Envy 1-3/4" Circle

Ink:
   Dapper Denim
   Emerald Envy
   Flirty Flamingo
   Peekaboo Peach
   Sweet Sugarplum

Technique:
   Die Cutting
   Punching

Accessories:
   Sunburst Thinlits Dies
   1-1/4" Circle Punch
   1-3/8" Circle Punch
   1-1/2" Circle Punch
   1-3/4" Circle Punch
   Dimensionals
   Paper Snips
   Adhesive

First, I die cut the sunburst in Whisper White and Gold Glimmer.

Next, I stamped each ray with a color: 2 colors are stamped 3 times, and 3 colors are stamped 2 times = 12 rays. I used a stamp from Gorgeous Grunge for this.

I punched a circle from 4 of the colors and stamped the sentiment using Dapper Denim. The colors are listed in order under the paper heading. They are adhered together using liquid glue.

I used liquid glue on the back of the rays to attach them to the Basic Black card base. First the Gold Glimmer paper, then the stamped Whisper White. I then trimmed the rays down to size.

The center is attached using dimensionals. The 5-1/4 x 4" Whisper White panel is for the inside of the card.

Nature Silhouettes

Create your own background with a clear block and some ink. I applied the Marina Mist ink while holding my clear block vertically. The Pear Pizzazz was applied by holding the block horizontally. What do you think?

Stamps:
   Inspired by Nature
   Teeny Tiny Wishes

Paper:
   Very Vanilla A-2, 5 x 3-3/4
   Marina Mist 5-1/4 x 4

Ink:
   Marina Mist
   Pear Pizzazz
   Tuxedo Black Memento

Technique:
   Clear Block Stamping "B"

Accessories:
   Basic Pearl Jewels
   Clear Block "B"
   Glue Dots
   Adhesive

First, I stamped the block images for the background. I lifted the Marina Mist ink with the clear block, and then holding it vertically, I stamped it on the top right corner and the bottom left corner. I then repeated the process using Pear Pizzazz ink and holding the block horizontally.

Next, I stamped the silhouettes with Tuxedo Black Memento ink. I also stamped the sentiment.

I then put the layers together and added the three large pearls.

Thank You Tassel

I made three panels from a 1" leftover strip of designer series paper. Since the paper is a floral design, you can cut it anywhere, and it will look beautiful. I used Tranquil Tide as the dominant color, and Gray Granite as the card base. Any thoughts?

Stamps:
   Perfect Punches

Paper:
   Gray Granite A-2
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (Inside), 2-1/2 x 1-1/2
   Frosted Floral DSP 1 x 3-1/2 (3)
   Tranquil Tide 1-1/4 x 3-3/4 (3)

Ink:
   Soft Suede

Technique:
   Punching

Accessories:
   Scallop Oval Punch
   Mini Tassels Assortment
   White Brad
   Gold Thread
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

This is a great layout to use for those leftover pieces of designer series paper. You can choose any color from the DSP to mat it, and then choose another for the sentiment and embellishments. Have fun and let your creativity run wild.

The sentiment is attached using dimensionals. The panels are adhered with liquid adhesive, and the gold thread is sitting on a glue dot.

I attached the tassel with a white brad. I pierced the card base first, and then placed the brad through the hole.

This flower is beautiful and looks great in any color. Stampin' Up! sold it with a coordinating punch. So, it is easy to stamp and punch it out, creating dimension on your card. Of course, the flower is easy enough to fussy cut with paper snips. Here is a lovely layout showcasing the flower in three beautiful colors.

Many Thanks

I then stamped my flowers on the Whisper White strip: 3 x 8-1/2. One flower in each of the colors: Daffodil Delight, Island Indigo, and Rich Razzleberry. I then punched them out using the Flower Medallion Punch.

I then die cut leaves with the Little Leaves die. I adhered one die cut leaf and stamped two leaves using Always Artichoke.

I attached the flowers using dimensionals, and I stamped the sentiment with Island Indigo.

This panel was then adhered to the Island Indigo card base.

I made a few more cards and changed the sentiments. Sentiments were pulled from Special Someone stamp set and Lovely You stamp set.
