I remember a time when hatpins were very popular. Eventually, we began to use them on our cards as embellishments. We adorned them with beads and pearls and attached them to the other elements on our cards or stuck them directly on the card front. The recipient could then remove the hatpin and wear it or leave it on the card.

The fabric flowers along with the hatpin are from the Pretties Kit. This has been discontinued, but I still have some in my stash that I need to use. All of the flowers in the kit are white. So, I added a few drops of Blushing Bride Re-inker in a container. I added some water and then soaked the white fabric flowers to dye them pink. I set them off on a paper towel to dry.
I then stamped and punched out the blossoms from the Mixed Bunch stamp set, using Rococo Rose and the Blossom Punch.
I broke up the card fibers with my bone folder and attached the blossom layers using Clear Rhinestone Brads. The hatpin is also directly attached to the card front.
The three pieces can easily be removed from the card base and worn as pins on a blouse, or lapel. These make a nice gift to send to someone too.

Sally, I love the stick-pin embellishment on this pretty card!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous layered flowers. I love the hat pin. I have a few that I will need to add to my tote once I finish my current tote of items that I am trying to use up by the end of the year. I no longer add them to cards as they are bulky to mail. So those will need added to my bin of items to use up. Yours looks great on your card.
