A Quiet Joy

Can you hear the quiet? Can you feel it? I can only imagine the peacefulness, joy, and calmness of the moment. Enjoy...

Stamps:
   Wonderland
   Country Morning
   Itty Bitty Backgrounds

Paper:
   Rich Razzleberry A-2
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (2), 5-1/8 x 3-7/8, 3/4 x 3-7/8

Ink:
   Island Indigo
   Rich Razzleberry
   Soft Suede
   Whisper White Craft
   Tuxedo Black Memento
   White Gel Pen

Technique:
   Sponging
   Brayer

Accessories:
   Brayer
   Sponge
   Iridescent Ice Glitter
   2-Way Glue Pen
   Adhesive

First, I added Island Indigo with my brayer from the top toward the middle of the card. I always started rolling the brayer right off the page and then downward to pull the ink toward the middle. This gets the deeper shade of blue at the top and a lighter shade as it moves downward.

Second, I did the same with Rich Razzleberry, but pulled the color from the bottom up toward the middle. Since I am right-handed, I just flipped my panel.

Third, I used a sponge to fill in and blend the color of the two in the middle until I had what I liked. I did make several of these panels at the same time, and I was amazed at how closely they resembled each other. There are subtle differences, but mostly the same.

Fourth, I stamped the trees using Soft Suede. Then I added some "snow" on the trees using my white gel pen.

Fifth, I stamped falling snow using Whisper White Craft ink and the background stamp from the Itty Bitty Backgrounds stamp set.

Sixth, I stamped my sentiment using Tuxedo Black Memento ink on a strip of Whisper White. I tore the top edge. (Always tear paper toward you.)

Seventh, I added glue with the 2-Way glue pen and sprinkled glitter on it. This helped to highlight the slope and draw attention to the sentiment. This step can be skipped if you prefer. Then, I adhered this piece to the bottom of my panel.

The panel was then adhered to a Whisper White panel that was just a hair larger. I wanted the white frame around it.

Lastly, I adhered this panel onto the card front. The extra panel of Whisper White (5-1/4 x 4) is for the inside of the card.

Jammin

This is a clean and simple (CAS) card for anyone: in a band, wishing to be in a band, or pretending to be in a band. It is a perfect card for anyone who enjoys music. You know that "alien" teenager...

Stamps:
   Extreme Guitar
   Layered Letters Alphabet
   Perpetual Birthday Calendar

Paper:
   Whisper White A-2

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black
   Bermuda Bay
   Cajun Craze
   Cucumber Crush
   Daffodil Delight
   Rich Razzleberry
   Tip Top Taupe
   Watermelon Wonder

Technique:
   CAS

Accessories:
   None

First, I stamped stars with Daffodil Delight and water spots or ink blots using the Tip Top Taupe. This covered the background for my card.

Next, I stamped the two Extreme Guitarist on the top right and bottom left corners using the Archival Basic Black ink.

Then I stamped "J" with Watermelon Wonder on the top left and "N" with Rich Razzleberry on the bottom right. This took care of the other two corners.

I then stamped the second "M" with Archival Basic Black and lined it up with the two guitarist. (In retrospect, I should have just continued with the A and the I, and lastly evened out the two M's. Oh well, on the next card.)

I then stamped the "A" using Cajun Craze, the "I" using Bermuda Bay, and the first "M" using Cucumber Crush.

You can easily add some bling to the card if you like. The occasion will be determined by the message written on the inside of the card by the sender.

Mountain Dad

Can you imagine seeing this through your window as you sip your morning beverage? Nature provides the best scenic views. All we have to do is sit and enjoy them.

Stamps:
   Waterfront
   Itty Bitty Greetings

Paper:
   Very Vanilla A-2, 4-1/4 x 3-1/2
Whisper White 4-1/4 x 3-1/2 (trim to window)
   Marina Mist 5-1/4 x 4
   Early Espresso 5 x 3-3/4

Ink:
   Early Espresso
   Marina Mist
   Mossy Meadow
   Pear Pizzazz

Technique:
   Die Cutting
   Dry Embossing
   Sponging

Accessories:
   Window Die
   Woodgrain Embossing Folder
   Sponge
   Adhesive

First, I die cut my window frame from the Very Vanilla 4-1/4 x 3-1/2 piece.

I placed it on top of the Whisper White panel, and made light pencil marks around the window frame corners. This lets me know what will show through my window.

I then sponged the sky with Marina Mist.

Stamped the mountains and the cabin with Early Espresso, the trees with Mossy Meadow and Pear Pizzazz, and if needed, the ground cover with Pear Pizzazz.

The mountains were stamped several times without re-inking the stamp. This results in different shades of Early Espresso which also adds dimension to the view.

I then stamped the sentiment to the bottom of the window frame using Early Espresso.

I erased the pencil marks on the Whisper White piece and lined it up behind my window. More slight pencil marks on anything showing past the window frame.

I trimmed the Whisper White panel to make sure none shows past the window frame. I adhered the panel to the frame.

Next, I dry embossed the Early Espresso panel using the Woodgrain Embossing Folder. I adhered it to the Marina Mist Panel.

I adhered the Marina Mist to the Very Vanilla card base.

Lastly, I adhered the window frame to the center of the card. I used my favorite adhesive. If you want more dimension then use dimensionals on the panel.

Butterfly Sprinkles

Using pigment sprinkles will result in a unique background each and every time. The flakes come alive with water, thus making exact copies impossible. Here is a rather vibrant background I made using my love of purple.

Stamps:
   Beautiful Day

Paper:
   Daffodil Delight A-2
   Watercolor 5-1/4 x 4

Ink:
   Tuxedo Black Memento

Pigment Sprinkles:
   Melon Mambo
   Daffodil Delight
   Gorgeous Grape

Technique:
   Watercolor

Accessories:
   Basic Rhinestone Jewels
   Adhesive

Playing with these pigment sprinkles is so much fun. Each spray of water results in a different look.

First, I sprinkle my pigment flakes onto my watercolor panel. I do sprinkle different colors around the card, and I try to not mix them as I sprinkle. I keep plenty of paper towels on hand.

Next, I spray with water and see my result.

I try to manipulate the flow, intensity, and mixture of colors by:

   Dabbing with a paper towel
   Spraying more water
   Tilting the panel
   Sprinkling more pigment flakes
   Repeating the process

until I have a panel or background I like. I have also learned to keep all of my panels because when they dry completely, they may look a bit different.

Once a panel is completely dried, I stamp large bold images, silhouettes, or use die cuts.

I do recommend the use of a Stamparatus, MISTI, or Stamp-a-ma-jig if you have one. These tools allow you to stamp several times on the same spot to reach the intensity you find pleasing.

I used a Daffodil Delight card base for my card to balance the light yellow with the deeper purple. I think it worked. What do you think? Take another look:

Obviously, you can opt for a Melon Mambo, Gorgeous Grape, Basic Black, or Whisper White card base. Your creation, your choice.

Happy All Year

Did you realize that you are in control of your emotions? So often, we want to blame others for the way we feel: "He makes me so mad; She makes my blood boil; He makes me cry all the time." And my all time favorite: "The Devil made me..." Still, the easiest emotion to express is joy. So, smile and be happy all year.

Stamps:
   Year Round Fun II
   Apple Blossoms

Wheels:
   Snowflake
   Bloomin'
   Leaf Prints

Paper:
   Early Espresso A-2
   Whisper White 5-1/4 x 4 (2), 1 x 5-1/2 (4)

Ink:
   Pool Party
   Melon Mambo
   Daffodil Delight
   Cajun Craze
   Early Espresso

Technique:
   Wheels

Accessories:
   Wheel
   Adhesive

First, I inked and rolled my wheels onto Whisper White strips: Snowflake represents winter in Pool Party; Bloomin' represents spring in Melon Mambo; Leaf Prints stand for autumn or fall in Cajun Craze. I used the sun stamp from Year Round Fun II in Daffodil Delight to represent my summer. I also spread sunshine throughout the year by stamping it onto each season.

I then adhered each of the Whisper White strips onto a Whisper White panel. I stamped my sentiment on the sunshine strip using Early Espresso.

This panel was then adhered to the Early Espresso card base.

Bethlehem

I like this Christmas card design because it is easy to duplicate and is perfect for anyone at any age. You can even die cut Bethlehem using any paper you have on hand, including sparkly, glittery, or patterned designs. Have fun!

Stamps:
   Night in Bethlehem

Paper:
   Very Vanilla A-2
   Night of Navy 5-1/8 x 2-1/4 (2)
   Whisper White Scrap (Star)

Ink:
   Basic Black
   Pineapple Punch

Technique:
   Die Cutting
   CAS

Accessories:
   Bethlehem Edgelits Dies
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

First, you want to die cut Bethlehem. There are two dies that make up the city. The top layer is attached using dimensionals, while the bottom layer is adhered with your favorite adhesive.

Next, I stamped and die cut the bright star. It is also attached with dimensionals.

Lastly, I stamped the sentiment.

Blue Christmas Angel

Christmas cards do not need to be full of glitter and sparkle to shine. This is a monochromatic card, and I think it carries its own attraction.

Stamps:
   Angels on Earth

Paper:
   Whisper White A-2, 5-1/4 x 4

Ink:
   Pacific Point

Technique:
   Monochromatic

Accessories:
   Striped Pacific Point Ribbon (5")
   Pacific Point Candy Dots
   Adhesive

First, I watercolored the Whisper White panel with Pacific Point. This gave me a light shade of Pacific Point.

I then stamped the four corners of the panel with a corner stamp from the the Angels on Earth stamp set.

Next, I stamped my angel on the lower half of the card.

I followed with the sentiment on the top part of the card.

I then added the ribbon as a dividing line between the image and the sentiment. I wrapped the ribbon around the card front and secured it on the back.

I added three Pacific Point candy dots below the sentiment and adhered the panel to the card base.

If you still want that sparkle, you can always substitute rhinestones in place of the candy dots. You can also add Wink of Stella to the angel's wings for the sparkly, glorified look.

Thank you so much for stopping by here and taking a quick peek. I appreciate your time. Let me know what you think.

Painted Autumn One Sheet Wonder

Create 14 unique cards with one 12 x 12 sheet from the Painted Autumn Designer Series Pack. Here is a picture of all the cards:

Here is the template that I used:

The circled number corresponds to the card number.

Each card has a unique name to identify it.

My goal is to use every bit of designer series paper. Everything else is taken out of my own supplies. You can substitute whatever you have on hand. Use the layout to cut and create with your own 12 x 12 paper.

Here is a You Tube Video I made explaining the 14 cards.

There is a separate entry for each of the cards that you can refer to for more details. Here are the titles of the cards in numerical order:

Before I began any of the cards I stamped and die cut 6 sunflower images using the Painted Harvest stamp set and the Sunburst Framelits Dies. My favorite color combinations are: Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, and Early Espresso. You can choose any of the colors that coordinate with the DSP. These were done on a Whisper White sheet.

I also stamped and punched out leaves. I used 7. They are stamped using Garden Green and punched out with the Leaf Punch.

The easiest thing to do is to see the details of each card in its own entry.

Contact Me if you have any questions.

Thank you for dropping by here and taking a peek.

Here is a video showing and explaining all 14 cards I made.

Halloween Night OSW #13

This is card 13 of 14 using one sheet from the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper Pack.

Stamps:
   Halloween Scares
   Teeny Tiny Wishes

Paper:
   Very Vanilla A-2
Painted Autumn DSP 1-1/4" Sq. (3)
   Basic Black 1-1/2" Sq. (3)

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black

Technique:
   None

Accessories:
   Basic Black Rhinestone Jewels
   Adhesive

First, I stamped three different Halloween images onto the three DSP squares.

I then matted these with Basic Black cardstock.

I adhered them onto the Very Vanilla card base. I placed the top one in the corner, followed by the bottom one in the corner. Lastly, I centered the middle one on the card.

Next, I stamped the tree on the bottom left of the card.

Lastly, I stamped the sentiment on the top right and added three basic black rhinestones.

I found it only fitting to make a Halloween card out of the 13th card of the one sheet wonder.

Here is a video explaining all 14 cards I made.

Sunflower Birthday OSW #12

This is card 12 of 14 using one sheet from the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper Pack.

Stamps:
   Butterfly Basics
   Painted Harvest

Paper:
   Very Vanilla A-2
   Painted Autumn DSP 4 x 3/4 (3)
   Whisper White 2-1/4" Sq.

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black
   Garden Green
   Peekaboo Peach
   Tangerine Tango
   Early Espresso

Technique:
   Die Cutting

Accessories:
   Starburst Framelits Dies
   Pumpkin Pie Corduroy Button Brad
   Large Pearl
   Glue Dot
   Dimensionals
   Adhesive

First, I stamped several ferns from the Butterfly Basics stamp set onto the Very Vanilla card front.

Next, I gathered the three strips of DSP and attached the Pumpkin Pie Corduroy Button Brad at one end. Make sure all the pieces are facing the same way.

Then I adhered the brad with the DSP to the bottom left corner of the card front. I spread the  DSP apart and adhered it to the card base. One strip went along the bottom, another went up along the left fold. The third piece went straight out in the middle.

I then added a sunflower with dimensionals. I adhered the large pearl to the center of the sunflower.

Lastly, I added the sentiment to the center top of the card.

Here is a video showing and explaining all 14 cards. I apologize in advance for my senior moments. I think you will get the "jest", I mean the gist of it.

Peace OSW #11

This is card 11 of 14 using one sheet from the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper Pack.

Stamps:
   Christmas Quilt

Paper:
   Very Vanilla A-2
   Painted Autumn DSP 4 x 3
   Basic Black 3" Sq.

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black

Technique:
   Die Cutting

Accessories:
   Quilt Builder Framelits Dies
   Adhesive

First, I die cut the top part of the DSP using the Quilt Builder Framelits. I placed the pieces aside, but kept them in place.

I then stamped the sentiment on the bottom of the DSP.

Next, I adhered this panel onto the Very Vanilla card base, centering it.

Having double sided DSP that coordinates is a big plus when you want to showcase a section of it. So, as you can see, I did turn over pieces of the DSP before gluing them. Note that four of the pieces were not flipped.

I die cut a frame for the quilt pattern and adhered it.

Here is a video explaining all 14 cards I made.

Brighter Days OSW #10

This is card 10 of 14 using one sheet from the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper Pack.

Stamps:
   Beautiful You

Paper:
   Very Vanilla A-2
Painted Autumn DSP 4 x 5-1/4 (measure 1" from top left and right bottom, then cut diagonally)

Ink:
   Archival Basic Black

Technique:
   None

Accessories:
   Adhesive

I used the top half of the previous panel. It is cut one inch from the top and bottom on a diagonal. Since the DSP is double sided, I flipped the paper over and used the back side for this card.

I adhered the DSP to the top part of the Very Vanilla card base.

I then stamped the lady with her umbrella on the bottom right corner.

I added the sentiment to the left of her. I decided to not add any color.

Here is a video showing and explaining all 14 cards. Please excuse my senior moments.

Painted Autumn DSP 5-1/4 x 4 (measure 1" from top left and right bottom, then cut diagonally)

   Adhesive

I took the 4 x 5-1/4 piece of DSP and made a mark 1" from the bottom right corner and another mark 1" from the top left corner. I then put these two marks on the cutting groove of my cutter and cut the paper.

Taking the bottom half of the paper, I adhered it to the Very Vanilla card base after stamping the tree from the Sheltering Tree stamp set.

Lastly, I stamped the sentiment on the top left of the card.

Here is a video showing all 14 cards and how I put them together.
